Webdesk: 50 Cent’s The Final Lap Tour, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, has been a big hit, and Connecticut is honouring him by basing its own day on his many accomplishments.
Before the Candy Shop rap star’s show in Constitution state on August 11, the state’s governor, Ned Lamont, gave him a “50 Cent Day” on Friday.
The hip-hop star said, “Today was officially Curtis 50 Cent Jackson day in Hartford, CT,” and posted the photo on Instagram. “The energy was so good that it reminded me why I moved to CT in the first place.”
When he moved to the state after buying a $4 million home from boxer Mike Tyson, the “In Da Club” singer had a lot to do with it. Later, he gave the 50,000-square-foot house to charity and put the money from the sale into his charity, the G-Unit Foundation.
After the ceremony, the Queens star put on an energetic show at the XFINITY Centre, Hartford.
The 48-year-old was also on the road. In May, he announced a world tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his first record, Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
The international part of the show will begin on September 28 in Amsterdam.
“You’ve had enough time to wait! “THE FINAL LAP TOUR celebrating GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN’ – 20 YEARS LATER,” 50 Cent wrote on the platform at the time.
