Webdesk: Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, will appear in the NAB on June 7. Its about the $190 million settlement case involving the transfer of funds from Britain’s NCA account.
According to the facts, NAB Rawalpindi has asked the former first lady to give a statement as a witness because she was a trustee of the Al-Qadir University Trust. The anti-corruption watchdog’s joint investigation team (CIT) has also asked the former prime minister to come in.
The sources said that the CIT was not happy with the PTI leader’s answer, which he gave on May 23 when he last went to NAB in Rawalpindi. They said that the former prime minister told on May 23 to answer the questionnaire by June 7.
The law says that NAB, which is an independent anti-corruption body, has to tell anyone it calls to make a statement if they are being called as an accused person or as a witness.
Following the rules, the CIT of the NAB has already written down what ministers of the former government said. The group has also asked for a list of everyone who gave money to Al-Qadir University Trust and how much they gave.
Last week, an accountability court gave the PTI leader bail in the corruption case until June 19 after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) told him to ask for bail at the right place.
While this going on, NAB officials told the court that Bushra Bibi didn’t need to be arrested in the case. She should help the anti-corruption group with their investigations whenever they ask her to.
