As ‘driver falls asleep’, Rajanpur bus disaster kills 5, injures 20

Rajanpur: When a bus turned over in the Fazilpur area, at least five people killed and 20 others seriously hurt.

The bus headed back to Jacobabad from Sakhi Sarwar with followers of a Sufi saint on board when the driver “fell asleep” and lost control of the vehicle, rescue officials said.

As soon as they heard about the accident, rescue teams went to the scene and took the hurt people to hospitals.

People with serious injuries taken to the county hospital in Rajanpur, while everyone else taken to a hospital in Fazilpur.

A woman and two children were among the people on the bus who died when it crashed.

District in charge of rescue services Dr. Aslam said that the accident happened because the bus driver fell asleep and lost control.

A few days before this accident, there was another bus accident in the Geeti-Das area near Babusar Top that killed eight people and hurt many more.

The tour bus went off a sharp turn in the hilly area and fell into a deep gorge. It caught fire on Friday.

Before that, on July 16, a similar bus accident killed six people in the Thalichi area of Diamer district.
