ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday strongly denounced Israeli soldiers’ raid on Al Aqsa Mosque on the third day of Ramazan. Raid ended displacing worshippers and violating the mosque’s sanctity, one of Islam’s holiest places.
In another statement, the Foreign Office condemned another Danish Quran desecration.
The FO condemned Israel’s Ramazan attacks on Al Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man in a West Bank raid on Thursday, the first day of Ramazan.
It stated that such activities violate the Palestinian people’s right to freedom of religion. As well as belief and offend nearly 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide.
“Israeli occupation forces’ indiscriminate use of force against defenseless Palestinians violates all humanitarian and human rights laws. “By conducting such illegal raids, Israel has violated its recent commitment to respect Ramazan,” the FO statement stated.
“Pakistan calls upon the international community to take urgent action to end the Israeli transgressions. That have been particularly ascendant since the beginning of this year,” the FO added.
“We reaffirm our unwavering support for the Palestinian people and the Palestinian cause. As well as renew our call for a viable, independent and contiguous Palestinian State, with pre-1967 borders. Al Quds Al Sharif should be its capital, being the only just, comprehensive and lasting solution of the Palestinian question. It is in accordance with the relevant United Nations and OIC resolutions.”
“The recurrence of such wilful and vile acts is a troubling manifestation of growing hatred, racism and phobia against Muslims and their faith,” the FO said of another Danish Quran destruction.
The other Incident
On March 24, far-right activist Rasmus Paludan resumed his Quran-burning protest in front of a mosque and Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen and pledged to do so every Friday until Sweden joins NATO.
It said repeated premeditated acts question the legal framework behind which Islamophobes hide and incite hatred.
The FO said freedom of expression cannot be used to denigrate the Holy Scriptures or religious figures.
In accordance with international human rights law, we urge all States to develop legal deterrence to prevent and prosecute such acts. We also call on the international human rights machinery to condemn intentional incitement to hate, discrimination, and violence against Muslims purely because of their faith.”
