ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly will meet today behind closed doors. The military officials will talk to the lawmakers about the current state of national security.
Sources say that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum will give the members a thorough explanation of what is going on right now.
The NSC decided to start a new military action to get rid of rising militancy, which led to this change.
The National Assembly Secretariat sent out notices. All federal officials, advisers, and MNAs asked to come to the meeting.
Secretaries of the interior, foreign affairs, finance, defense, information and broadcasting, and foreign affairs also asked to attend. The NA Secretariat sent special invitations to the four regional chief ministers, chief secretaries, and IGPs.
“Good communication”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that on Friday, the National Assembly would get a report on matters of national security that would be held behind closed doors.
Moreover, Ali Wazir, an MNA from Waziristan, brought up a point. In response, Shehbaz told the house that lawmakers would also be able to ask their own questions about the subject during the in-camera briefing.
He told the MNA that all of his worries would be heard and answered in a way that would make him happy.
“This would be a good way to talk. “There would be no talk that would make things worse; instead, we would try to fix things,” the prime minister said.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said at the time that the military leaders would go to the National Assembly sitting and answer questions from the members. He also said that the military authority was aware of the threat that terrorism posed.
He was very worried about the rise in terrorism and said that people who helped terrorists settle in civilian places should be held responsible.
