Webdesk: World Book Day promotes reading, publishing, and copyright worldwide on April 23. Authors, publishers, teachers, and readers commemorate books and their impact on society on this day.

Moreover, Madhuri Dixit, an Indian actor and UNICEF goodwill ambassador, shared a Malala Yousafzai quote to commemorate the event. “One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world,” Yousafzai said. She’s a global icon of resistance for her education and women’s rights campaigning.

Malala Yousafzai’s valiant campaign for education and women’s rights is well-known. While walking to school, a Taliban gunman shot her in the head at 15. She advocated for education despite this attack. Yousafzai called for global education in a 2013 UN speech. Her comment has inspired education advocates worldwide.

Moreover, Madhuri Dixit, an advocate for children’s education and rights, tweeted Yousafzai’s remark on social media to commemorate World Book Day. Reading, writing, and education shape children’s futures and improve the world, she said. Dixit has promoted education, especially for girls, using her fame. She became UNICEF Celebrity Advocate for Child Rights in India in 2014. She has toured schools as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador to talk to youngsters about how education can alter their life.

While, Yousafzai and Dixit’s education advocacy is important in a world where millions of youngsters lack basic education. UNESCO reports 262 million out-of-school children and youth, with girls disproportionately affected. School closures and the digital divide have compounded the situation.
