A major terrorist network has been exposed in Azad Kashmir, revealing a disturbing plan to disrupt peace in the region. In a joint press conference, the Inspector General and Interior Minister Waqar Noor shared key findings from the investigation.
He stated that after the tragic killing of Constable Sajjad Resham at the Shujaabad checkpoint, an investigation led to the identification of several suspects, including Zarnosh alias Qasim, Usama alias Muhammad, and Hunzala alias Ulfat.
On March 19, Saqib Ghani was arrested at the Azad Pattan entry point with heavy weapons and admitted links to the other suspects.
The suspects were reportedly planning attacks on sensitive locations and had also been involved in previous violent incidents, including an attempted arson attack on Bagh City Police Station.
Usama later surrendered and helped recover grenades and pistols, leading to further arrests. Some suspects confessed to multiple subversive acts in the region.
Another key figure, Ghazi Shehzad, escaped from Rawalakot jail and is confirmed to have links with hostile agencies in Afghanistan.
According to the Interior Minister, there is credible evidence that India provided support and training to these elements. He urged the public to remain vigilant and support law enforcement to ensure lasting peace in Azad Kashmir.
