Marc Missonnier said he got his badge back after he said Cannes Film Festival took it away. It is because he questioned the choice of Catherine Corsini’s film Homecoming.
The French director updated his accreditation badge on Twitter with the message, “All’s well that ends well. Thank you to the Cannes Film Festival and everyone who showed their support by doing this. This afternoon, I’ll go back to Paris.”
The news comes at a time when Missonnier is speaking out against the Cannes Film Festival’s decision to show Homecoming. That is a film by Catherine Corsini that has been accused of misconduct on the set.
The 52-year-old producer of hits like “8 Femmes” and “Swimming Pool” and “Marguerite” wrote, “I just got to Croisette like I do every year for more than 30 years. Even though this year will different because, as I said, I won’t be seeing any of the Official Selection pictures.
The producer said, “There, I found out that it (accreditation) had stopped a few days earlier without anyone telling me because, and I quote, “I called for a boycott in a vicious personal campaign.” So, I punished by sent to the corner like a bad child. I can do nothing but laugh.”
