Webdesk: Andy Cohen talked about how he was able to work and be a parent when he was in his early fifties.
During an interview on CBS, the host said, “Your mother loved that ‘Is That All There Is?’ song by Peggy Lee.” I was right there. I was getting close to 50, and I kept hearing that song. I thought, “There must be a bigger plan for me.” This is great, and I love it very much. But there must be a bigger reason.”
He went on to say, “Being a parent has changed me in every way. I mean, I feel like my goals have changed a lot. I feel like my sense of what I’ve done has changed a lot. And even just making sure your kids have breakfast and get to school on time, I’m like, “You did it, dude!” when I drop him off at school. That was a rough two hours and a half, you know?”
The late-night host also talked about the good and bad parts of being a parent.
“If I spend three hours with Ben and then have to go to work, you know, you’re at work and you’re like, Did I spend enough time with Ben today? If Ben tells me I’m his best friend, grabs my hand to hold it, or hugs me extra tight, that will be the best thing that happens to me all day.”
Benjamin Allen Cohen and Lucy Eve Cohen are Cohen’s children.
