Webdesk: Larry Jackson, a former Apple Music global creative director, and Ike Youssef, a former music executive, conceived of Gamma. It presents itself as a substitute for conventional record labels.
“The artists driving contemporary society create not only music, but also video, film, podcasts, and fashion,” Jackson said in a statement. “People should not be required to jump through numerous hoops in order to express themselves.
Gamma asserts that it will encourage content creation — be it music, video, or podcasts — and distribute audio and video through Vydia, a firm it bought in December 2022.
According to Gamma, early projects would feature collaborations. These collaborations will be with Snoop Dogg and his Death Row library, Rick Ross, and Naomi Campbell. Also, it intends to partner with Todd Boehly’s Eldridge, whose investments include the Los Angeles Dodgers, a big sponsor.
The indie film studio A24 is an investor in the startup. According to a published source, Gamma has access to approximately $1 billion in capital.
