ISLAMABAD: The federal government approved the nationwide deployment of military troops for Muharram security on Thursday.
Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan wanted the military to control law and order.
Under Article 245 of the Constitution, the Centre ordered the “deployment of army troops/assets. As well as civil armed forces troops/assets” to maintain peace.
The interior ministry stated that local authorities will determine the army’s number, date, and deployment region.
In addition to demanding army assistance, law enforcement and local officials have tightened security.
Moreover, On the 10th and 9th of Muharram, believers hold enormous gatherings and processions nationwide.
While, As terror attacks increased in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the provincial administrations reportedly requested help.
Pakistan has often raised the problem of terrorist safe havens in Afghanistan and reminded Tabilan leadership of their Doha deal promise to not allow militant activity on their country.
Moreover, Pakistan Army leaders informed on the internal security situation and the rise in terrorism on Monday.
“The sanctuaries and liberty of action available to the terrorists of proscribed TTP and other groups of that ilk in a neighbouring country and availability of latest weapons to the terrorists were noted as major reasons impacting Pakistan’s security,” the military said after the 258th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at GHQ.
