Islamabad: Asad Rehman Gilani officially named head of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra).
He took over as head of Nadra just a few days after his predecessor, Tariq Mailk, quit because of the “charged political environment”. Malik’s exit accepted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who thanked him for what he had done for the country.
Gilani is an officer in the Pakistan Civil Service at the grade 22 level, and he is also the head of the Board of Investment. He took on more work today when he became the new head of Nadra.
On his first day at work, the new Nadra chairman told all the workers to do their jobs well and make sure that services to the public didn’t stop.
He went to different offices and promised to keep working to make Nadra services better for people. The chairman said that he would soon go to the regional Nadra offices to check on how they were doing.
Gilani also told the heads of all the offices to keep working even on weekly holidays to finish printing ID cards that were behind schedule.
In a three-page resignation, Tariq Mailk talked about his work and the projects he started while he was in charge of the Nadra. This is important to say here.
He also said that the federal government shouldn’t put a current or former bureaucrat in charge of Nadra.
