Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, who visited with a delegation and conveyed a goodwill message from President Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, both sides discussed further enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, particularly in the areas of investment. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the Azerbaijani delegation, stating that the long-standing brotherly relations between the two countries are based on shared culture, beliefs, mutual respect, and fraternity.
The Prime Minister mentioned his recent visit to Azerbaijan and reviewed the implementation of memorandums of understanding and agreements between the two countries. He invited Azerbaijan to benefit from the vast investment opportunities available in Pakistan, particularly in sectors like oil exploration, minerals and mining, renewable energy, and infrastructure.
The Azerbaijani Economy Minister expressed Azerbaijan’s deep interest in furthering cooperation and trade with Pakistan in various sectors. He also highlighted the progress in areas like renewable energy and infrastructure investment.
Minister Jabbarov expressed satisfaction with the progress in the development of the White Oil Pipeline and other joint projects. Both sides expressed optimism about further improving cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, Ambassador Khazar Farhadov, Deputy Economy Minister Samad Bashiri, Deputy Minister of Energy Kamal Abbasov, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, and other senior officials from both countries.
