`Webdesk: The Japan Times said that a 6.2-magnitude earthquake hit off the coast of Japan’s Chiba Prefecture at 7:03 p.m. on Friday, sending seismic waves to nearby places like Tokyo.
The Japanese meteorological office says that the tremor felt 50 kilometres deep off the east coast of Chiba.
The government said that there was no notice of a tsunami.
Moreover, The country’s nuclear body said that there’s no problems at any of the nuclear plants in the area.
The quake in Japan on Friday happened just three weeks after a 6.5-magnitude tremor hit Ishikawa Prefecture and killed one man and hurt several others.
While, The quake hit the northern tip of the Noto Peninsula on the Sea of Japan coast in Ishikawa Prefecture. It was 12 km deep.
According to NHK, local police in the city of Suzu, Ishikawa Prefecture, near the epicentre of the earthquake, said that the quake destroyed many buildings and that hospitals treating people who hurt by the quake.
“One man who fell off a ladder showed no signs of life,” it said. The Suzu Fire Department said that three houses had fallen down and that two people were stuck in them.
