In two separate operations in Indian-administered Kashmir, an Indian army officer and three suspected militants have been killed, according to military officials.
The first operation took place in the forested region of Kishtwar, where security forces launched a raid following intelligence reports about militant presence. One militant was killed on Wednesday night, and two more were gunned down on Saturday despite adverse weather.
In a separate incident near the Line of Control in Akhnoor, an Indian officer was killed while intercepting a group allegedly attempting to infiltrate from Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
These incidents could not be independently verified. Both India and Pakistan claim Kashmir in full and have long-standing tensions over the disputed region.
