ISPR said that Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir is in China for a four-day working trip.
“The COAS is on a four-day official visit to China to improve relations between the two militaries”. The military’s media branch said, without giving any more information.
Since he took charge of the Pakistan Army, this is Gen Munir’s fourth trip outside of Pakistan. In January, Gen. Munir went to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for work. This was his first trip abroad as army chief.
While in Saudi Arabia, the COAS met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and “discussed ways to improve bilateral relations.”
Later, Gen. Munir went to UAE, where he met with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and talked about military and defence relations.
During the meeting, the two leaders also talked about ways to improve the military to serve the needs of both countries. The meeting was reported by the state news agency.
A month later, Gen. Munir went to the United Kingdom on a very important trip at the request of Britain’s Ministry of Defence to talk about strategic security problems.
After his trip to the UK, Gen. Munir went back to the UAE and met with the president.
