Webdesk: After 10 months in jail. Indian Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu was let out of the Patiala Jail in Punjab on Saturday.
The Indian Supreme Court had convicted Sidhu of a 34 years old accident in which one person was killed. Sidhu was let out of jail two months before he was supposed to. His good behaviour while he was in jail is said to be the reason for this.
In Punjab, supporters of the Indian National Congress were happy that Sidhu was freed.
Earlier on Friday, a message was posted on Sidhu’s official Twitter handle about his release from the jail.
The tweet said, “This is to let everyone know that Sardar Navjot Singh Sidhu will be let out of Patiala Jail tomorrow. (The authorities have told us this.)”
Another message posted on Sidhu’s official Twitter account said that he was going to talk to the press on Saturday afternoon.
