LAHORE: On Sunday, an anti-corruption court in Lahore denied the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment’s (ACE) request to keep Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in jail for the illegal recruitments case in the Punjab Assembly.

The former chief minister of Punjab given a 14-day jail sentence by Judge Ghulam Murtaza Virk.

The former chief minister of Punjab taken into custody by ACE agents for reportedly making illegal appointments to the Punjab Assembly. He brought before a court in Lahore earlier today, with strict security.

The Punjab ACE arrested the former chief minister for the third time on Saturday. Even though two corruption cases against him dropped by a local court in Gujranwala.

Elahi brought before a district kacheri court in the provincial capital today. He was represented in the case by Rana Intezar, who is the head of the Lahore Bar Association.

Elahi told media in the district of Kacheri that it doesn’t matter how many cases brought against him. “It doesn’t matter if ten or a hundred cases booked.”

The former Punjab chief minister spoke to PTI leaders, workers, and fans. He told them to fight with “absolute courage” and not to worry about anything.

“You are at the front of the war for freedom, truth, religion, and Pakistan. “Keep going and keep fighting,” Elahi told them.

In an attempt to disprove the charges against him in the cases, the PTI president said that the government has nothing to gain from their lies.

Elahi brought to the courtroom, but duty judge Ghulam Murtaza did not see him.
