Hollywood director and screenwriter James Toback has been accused of sexually harassing over 40 young actresses during interviews and auditions.
These incidents took place between 1979 and 2014, with details emerging after the launch of the #MeToo movement, which gave women the courage to share their stories.
More than 40 actresses filed a lawsuit in 2022 against Toback, detailing the harassment they endured.
In response, a U.S. court ordered the director to pay a massive $1.68 billion in damages for sexually harassing the women involved, following solid evidence and his confession.
The victims’ lawyer stated that the court’s decision sends a clear message to powerful individuals who mistreat women.
