Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) banned transfers and postings at the federal level on Thursday. Its until a caretaker government put in place.
After Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent the report to President Dr. Arif Alvi, he gave his approval for the National Assembly to dissolved early.
In a message to the Establishment Division, the electoral body said that the National Assembly has been disbanded and that all transfers and postings should stop until a caretaker setup is put in place.
In its message, the ECP said that the interim government will soon take over.
“It has learned that a large number of transfers and postings of officers have planned in ministries and divisions,”. Said the ECP, asking that any such decisions be put off until the interim government comes.
After the temporary government takes over, transfers and postings can happen according to the law and policy, the letter said.
