Karachi: The first solar eclipse of 2025 occurred on Saturday; however, it was not visible in Pakistan.
According to details, the eclipse began at 1:51 PM Pakistan Standard Time and ended at 5:44 PM, lasting a total of 5 hours and 53 minutes. Despite its duration, the phenomenon remained unseen in Pakistan.
Meteorological Department spokesperson Anjum Nazir Zaiqam explained that the primary reason for this was the birth of a new moon, which altered the eclipse’s path, preventing it from being visible in Pakistan and several other countries.
The eclipse, however, was clearly observed in parts of Europe, Western Africa, North America, and sections of the Atlantic Ocean.
