According to state media, a terrorist attack on a shrine in Shiraz, Iran, killed at least four people on Sunday.
“Four people killed so far following a terrorist attack by two armed men on the holy shrine of Shah Cheragh”. AFP reported, citing Iran’s official news agency IRNA.
Tasnim reported that one assailant captured and the other fled.
Daesh claimed responsibility for an October shrine shooting that killed 13 and wounded 30.
Last month, Iran’s judiciary’s Mizan Online news website stated that Mohammad Ramez Rashidi and Naeem Hashem Qatali publicly hanged for the October incident.
Authorities earlier thought the attack involved foreigners from Afghanistan.
IRNA said that the pair hung before early on July 8 on a street near the shrine in Shiraz, Fars province’s capital.
Mizan stated they convicted of “corruption on earth, armed rebellion and acting against national security” and “conspiracy against the security of the country”.
Rashidi told Mizan he worked with Daesh to shoot.
Three other Daesh members received five, 15, and 25-year sentences.
Authorities say the main assailant, Hamed Badakhshan, a 30-year-old Iranian male, died of his injuries.
Tehran apprehended 26 “terrorists” from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan in November for the attack.
