Islamabad: Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb stated the coalition government will oppose any ruling by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial favouring PTI chief Imran Khan “out of fear of his [CJP] mother-in-law” in Punjab polls delay case.
On Monday, the minister tweeted that if the chief justice ruled in favour of PTI leader Imran Khan. Specially based on fear of the mother-in-law and counsel from children and wives, it would not be allowed.
“Neither the nation nor we will spare those who play with the Constitution,” she continued.
Her revelation comes a day after the newest leaked audio clip allegedly featuring CJP Bandial’s mother-in-law. As well as a PTI lawyer’s wife surfaced on social media.
Both discussed the political situation and a high-profile apex court issue in the audio.
Marriyum found it odd that a “woman had become spokesperson of those who threw shoes at the poster of her son-in-law” on the audio tape.
She added the country suffers from “Imran-like thieves, liars, who brought inflation and unemployment”. It is when foreign agents, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, children, and mothers-in-law advise the Constitution and justice.
The minister said polls held on schedule without Bajwa’s or anyone’s mother-in-law’s suggestion.
