ISLAMABAD: The government will form a high-powered joint investigation team (JIT) to investigate the clashes outside judicial complex betwwen law enforcement agencies & Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters when Imran Khan was ordered to appear in court.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led coalition government formed a JIT to examine armed group attacks on police and courts and pursue legal action against the PTI, its leadership, and people for defying the state.
On March 18, Islamabad police filed a Complaint against PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders. For fighting police, burning vehicles, and destroying property.
When the PTI head arrived at the judicial complex last week for a Toshakhana case hearing. Demonstrators attacked law officers and damaged property, barring Khan from attending.
The magazine says the JIT will include interior ministry, police, and intelligence agency leaders. It will investigate the police attack and injuries at the Federal Justice Complex and report within seven days.
The JIT will investigate the petrol bomb assaults and the judicial complex attack by proscribed militants.
It will also look into who gave the police teargas shells.
The JIT will also identify state institution instigators. Following the report, the government will sue the perpetrators.
