ISLAMABAD: Munish Sharma, an Indian journalist, asked one of his subordinates to lie about the April 27 police custody death of Mukhtar Hussain Shah, a resident of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The call revealed Indian brutality and human rights violations in the disputed valley.
In the audio leak, Sharma instructed Balkar Singh from Samba town’s Amar Ujala newspaper to cover up the incident.
Moreover, According to Indian media, Shah arrested on April 21 for questioning by the Indian police. Over a Poonch district attack that killed several Indian soldiers. He briefly released and summoned again for interrogation on April 26, but died mysteriously.

The family of a 48-year-old man who died after named a suspect in the Poonch attack called the magisterial probe ordered by the puppet IIOJK administration a “official cover-up,” according to The Wire.
The family of Mukhtar Hussain Shah requested a judicial inquiry into his death. They called the magisterial inquiry order “full of discrepancies”.
“The order appears to conceal the truth. A sham. Rafaqat Hussain Shah, the deceased’s brother, rejected it and demanded a judicial investigation.
“Rafaqat claimed that Mukhtiar’s back and thighs had ‘bruises’ and ‘black marks’, suggesting he tortured in custody. Let the investigators reveal his wrongdoing. “Why are they hiding the truth?” he asked The Wire.
Poonch Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Baskotra hung up when the news outlet asked for his comments on the case. When contacted, Poonch Deputy Commissioner Inder Jeet said he had transferred out of the district and had no jurisdiction over the matter.
Mukhtar’s phone video showed him crying and speaking incoherently while claiming that he, his family, and the neighbours were tortured after the attack.
