“Shocked to hear about Ray Stevenson’s death,” the star wrote on Twitter. Gone too soon. Working with him was a great experience. May his spirit rest in peace.”
He also told the actor’s family, “My thoughts and prayers are with his family and close friends during this hard time.”
The RRR team also wrote loving things about the star on Twitter: “What shocking news for us all on the team! Ray Stevenson, may you rest in peace. Sir Scott, you will always be in our hearts. #RRRMovie.”
In the Indian hit movie RRR, which won an Oscar, Ray Stevenson played the role of British Governor Mr. Scott. In the movie, Mr. Scott was a racist and mean person who picked on Jr. NTR’s character, Komaram Bheem.
The man who played Thor died on May 21, four days before his birthday. The Italian newspaper La Repubblica says that the 58-year-old actor was taken to the hospital after a medical accident on the island of Ischia. The actor from Rome was on the island to make the movie Cassino on Ischia.
The famous actor became known to people in the U.S. when he played a soldier with shady morals on the HBO show Rome.
He then went on to star in several big-budget projects including Punisher: War Zone, Thor, The Three Musketeers, and Black Sails.
