LAHORE: Opposition and ruling alliance leaders doubt the “final round” election talks between the PDM and PTI on Tuesday.

MOREOVER, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif questioned the opposition PTI and PDM’s negotiations. To hold simultaneous nationwide elections in Punjab’s Sialkot on Sunday.

“PTI is just arguing,” the senior PML-N leader said.

The defence minister asked the negotiation teams if the Panchayat council was legitimate or illegitimate.

While, The PML-N leader said PTI chief Imran Khan announced rallies in three cities. “He should rally quickly to end negotiations.”

Asad Umar, PTI leader, called the PDM-led government’s negotiations bad.

While, Umar told Karachi media the Supreme Court advised the PTI to negotiate with the ruling PDM.

He said the PDM put the nation in “danger” for vested interests.

Moreover, The former federal minister said the country needs consensus to solve its problems.

Negotiations would end Tuesday, May 2.

Umar said not holding elections within 90 days violates the Constitution and that the next polls after the imminent one would be based on the new census.

Moreover, The Supreme Court has urged political parties to negotiate to resolve the impasse over general election timing, stoking political tensions.

As ordered by the court, political parties failed to choose an election date by April 26. On April 25, the Supreme Court said it cannot force parties to negotiate.

PTI Senior Vice-President Fawad Chaudhry announced today that rallies will begin on May 1 if negotiations with the PDM-led government fail.

Fawad tweeted that the PTI hopes negotiations with the ruling coalition succeed but has a backup plan.

He asked supporters to prepare for the “major movement” in Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar, where Imran Khan will lead the rallies.
