Lahore: Friday, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the senior vice president of the PML-N, asked the coalition government to treat the PTI as a “terrorist organisation.”
“The government and state should treat PTI as a banned organisation or a terrorist group. “It’s time to stop thinking of PTI as a political party and treating it like one,” she said.
She said that now that all of Imran Khan’s plans had failed, he was ready to talk with the government.
She said this at a heated press conference in Lahore, where she criticised the former prime minister for “openly rebelling against the state.”
“What do terrorists do when they want to do something bad?” They hide in caves where they give orders.
“In political and democratic movements, political leaders or the head of the party have always led from the front. He’s in front, and everyone else walks out behind him.”
She said that orders were only given “from a cave” by terrorist groups. She also said that the same thing was happening at Zaman Park.
“Statements are being made from the Zaman Park bunker,” she said, adding that people were also being told to throw petrol bombs.
Moreover, From where did the petrol come? Where did the bombs made of petrol come from? How did people figure out how to make petrol bombs? Have you ever seen a political party with a petrol bomb?”
`Afterward, Maryam said that Imran had put the police forces of two provinces against each other. She also said that there were people from banned groups outside of Zaman Park.
“In the same way that terrorist groups tell people to wear suicide vests and carry out suicide attacks, he is telling people to attack the state in exchange for a party ticket. It’s exactly the same.”
Moreover, She also said that the state seemed to be on the back foot because it didn’t want people to die and cared about their lives. She said that the government should “take care of everyone.”
“But yes, now the state will have to meet with the country’s institutions and take the label of a political party off of it” (PTI). It should be dealt with as a group that is both illegal and dangerous.
“This government will be in a lot of trouble if this doesn’t happen.” she added
