During the launch ceremony of the Pak Business Express Train in Lahore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that every time the U.S. President mentions preventing war between Pakistan and India, it reopens Modi’s wounds.
He cited former U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of de-escalating tensions between the two nations as a source of embarrassment for India. The Prime Minister highlighted the valor and modern warfare skills of Pakistan’s armed forces during the events of May 9, claiming it elevated Pakistan’s global image.
On the railway front, PM Shehbaz praised the revival of Pakistan Railways. He announced that the Pak Business Express will offer top-tier European-style travel services for both elites and common citizens. Running between Lahore and Karachi, the train will feature digitized ticketing, modern lounges, and comfortable coaches.
The Prime Minister congratulated Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi for making the impossible possible by revitalizing the rail system. He also acknowledged the efforts of Khawaja Saad Rafique during the PDM tenure for his strategic input in reclaiming land and upgrading railway stations.
Discussing the economy, PM Shehbaz claimed visible improvements in inflation rates and overall indicators, attributing success to collective governance. He added that Pakistan-China cooperation is entering a new phase via CPEC Phase 2, while relations with the U.S. are being realigned on fresh terms.
The PM also toured various sections of the Lahore Railway Station and inspected the new train’s facilities.
