Karachi: Murtaza Wahab, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), will take oath as the mayor of Karachi today (Monday). He won the election and beat Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI).
While, On June 15, the city held polls for mayor. The leader of the PPP got 173 votes, while the leader of the JI in Karachi got 160 votes.
After the big change, JI said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Sindh government used muscle power and money to make sure their candidates won. The PPP leaders, including Wahab, denied these claims.
Moreover, Workers from PPP and JI fought outside the Arts Council, which was a polling place for the mayoral race, after Wahab won.
