Webdesk: Bill Cosby, an American stand-up comedian, actor, and television producer, accused of sexually assaulting nine more women.
The Nevada federal lawsuit alleges that Cosby drugged and molested the women in Las Vegas, Reno. As well as Lake Tahoe between 1979 and 1992.
One woman claims that Cosby lured her from New York to Nevada and drugged and raped her.
Over 60 women have accused 85-year-old Bill Cosby of rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. He, the first celebrity tried and convicted during #MeToo, despite denying all sex offense claims.
After nearly three years in state prison near Philadelphia, a higher court overturned his conviction in 2021.
A 16-year-old woman who claimed Cosby sexually molested her at the Playboy Mansion in 1975 granted $500,000 last year.
While, Governor Joe Lombardo’s law eliminating a two-year deadline for people to bring sexual abuse complaints prompted the Nevada lawsuit. Los Angeles Times cites lawsuits in other states with similar statutes.
Moreover, Nevada-born plaintiff Lise-Lotte Lublin supported the legal change. In 1989, she claimed Cosby drugged and assaulted her in a Las Vegas hotel. She can sue Cosby now under the new law.
On June 1, a former Playboy model sued Cosby in California, using a new rule that suspends the statute of limitations on sex abuse claims.
Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s spokesperson, said such regulations allow civil actions to overload the court system and accused the women of pursuing attention and money rather than advocating for victims. Wyatt stressed that they would investigate these complaints in public and legal forums.
The latest lawsuit alleges that Cosby used his power, fame, and influence to isolate and sexually abuse women by pretending to help them with their careers.
