Rawalpindi: General Syed Asim Munir, the head of the Pakistani army, and his Iranian counterpart both promised on Sunday to get rid of “terrorism in border areas,” according to a statement from the military’s media arm.
During his “successful” two-day visit to Tehran, Gen. Munir met with the top military leaders of the nearby country to talk in-depth about military issues.
Both military commanders agreed that “terrorism is a threat to both countries and the region as a whole.”
“They promised to get rid of the threat of terrorism in border areas. By sharing intelligence and taking effective action against terrorist networks. They also said they would look for ways to improve security cooperation,” the ISPR said.

The military’s media arm also said that Gen. Munir spoke with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahain.
During the meeting, the Iranian leaders and the army chief talked about how important Pakistan-Iran relations for peace and stability in the area.
