Washington: According to Masood Khan, Pakistan is the “most philanthropic” nation on world.
Radio Pakistan said that Masood made his statements during a luncheon meeting in Washington with former Pakistan captain Shahid Khan Afridi and squash legend Jahangir Khan.
The two legends are in the US for Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) activities.
Masood stated Afridi’s selflessness rescued hundreds from malnutrition in Azad Kashmir during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The ambassador praised Afridi for arranging the Kashmir Premier League. As well as his foundation’s work in education, water security, health, and poverty reduction.
Masood called Jahangir a “source of inspiration” for the nation.
Afridi said he began his humanitarian work in 2011 by opening a hospital in his hometown. As well as, five mobile health clinics to serve remote communities.
Afridi also praised the Pakistan Army, saying they had helped him reach people in inaccessible locations and rugged terrain.
However, Jahangir claimed that selfless devotion is an evolved degree of humanity and a unique honour to serve one’s community and nation. The Pakistani diaspora’s significant donations allowed the charity to develop.
Dr. Attique Samdani, partner and co-owner of Virginia Cancer Institute, Richmond, and SAF US chapter head, stated the foundation provides transparent services to worthy people.
The foundation’s water filtration facilities help nearly 20,000 homes.
