Karachi: The PPP has warned Nabil Gabol for making inappropriate comments in a recent YouTube interview. He is one of its leaders from Karachi’s Lyari district
The party gave him a “show-cause notice” and asked him to explain why he used bad language.
Gabol was recorded saying, in response to a question, “When rape is imminent, just enjoy it”. This got a lot of backlash on social media. That includes the granddaughters of the former prime minister, Fatima Bhutto and Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari.
Nisar Khuhro, the president of the PPP Sindh, sent the notice to Gabol. It asked him to explain why he used such language within three days or he would be punished.
The party will take action against him if he doesn’t follow the rules, the spokesman said.
The party’s spokesman also said that such comments and non-parliamentary language have no place in the party’s policies.
The PPP’s spokesman said that using bad words and language that isn’t allowed in parliament has no place in the party’s policy.
The PPP’s quick response to Gabol’s comments shows that it takes a firm stance against its members using inappropriate language. The party wants to keep its reputation as a progressive and inclusive political force, so it doesn’t want its members to use inappropriate language.
