Lahore: After social media buzzed over Khadija Shah’s release, Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed her location Sunday. Shah is a Pakistani fashion designer and the Jinnah House attack’s main suspect.
A May 9 video of the designer apologising went viral, prompting the claims. The province chief minister disputed user complaints that Shah given preferential treatment due to her apparent release.
Naqvi stated Shah was in jail and her identity parade was ongoing.
He replied to an inquiry regarding the designer’s whereabouts days after an anti-terrorism court (ATC) gave her to the police.
After Shah appeared in court with her face shrouded in a black cloth last week, the ATC granted the police’s request for an identification parade in jail until May 30.
After PTI accused his party’s female leaders, employees, and supporters of jail abuse, CM Naqvi denied it to Lahore press.
The chief minister supported the government’s determination to punish all May 9 mayhem perpetrators, regardless of influence.
Women treated legally. “PTI is promoting prisoner mistreatment of women,” the chief minister remarked.
Moreover, Only 11 of 32 women arrested by CM Naqvi remain in jail. The top provincial official noted that “mothers and sisters remain safe” is his government’s responsibility.

Shah will appear on May 30 per court order

After Imran Khan’s arrest in the £190m settlement case, PTI supporters stormed and burnt Jinnah House, also known as Corps Commander House, on May 9.
Shah acknowledged to supporting the PTI and protesting outside the Jinnah House in an audio message before her arrest. She denied encouraging violence.
Moreover, Shah’s father, Dr. Salman Shah, was a part of former president Parvez Musharraf’s finance team and a Punjab government adviser under Usman Buzdar. Her grandfather was an army chief.

CM Naqvi had previously stated that the ladies who attacked military posts on May 9 will be detained at any costs.
