Lahore (Health Desk) The second polio campaign of this year will begin in Lahore on February 13 and run through February 19.
A meeting was convened in this respect, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali, and attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, the CEO of Health, Area Incharges, UCMOs, and others.
Dr. Zubair briefed Muhammad Ali of DC Lahore. Muhammad Ali of D. DC Lahore gave orders to carry on the anti-polio campaign with the same intensity as before and warned against any complacency.
Seven DDHOs were also told by Muhammad Ali to face consequences for missing the meeting. He said that the goal of administering the polio vaccine to 22 lakh children under the age of five was accomplished.
The polio campaign will include 6360 employees. According to Muhammad Ali, parents should work closely with the polio teams because two drops of polio are crucial for your kids’ future.
According to the Emergency Operations Centre coordinator Mr. Khizer Afzaal, This polio drive is being launched in response to two of Lahore’s polio environmental sample sites tested positive. Punjab has 31 permanent environmental sampling sites including six from Lahore. This January, Gulshan-e-Ravi and Multan Road sites have tested positive.
