Webdesk: On the first day of its release, Bheed, a sociopolitical drama starring Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, did not garner a resounding reception; it hardly drew an audience to the theaters.
Analyst Akshaye Rathi spoke with Indiatoday about the reasons why moviegoers did not enjoy the film. He remarked, “Demand and supply determine the type of tickets sold. And Bheed, at least initially, not the type anticipated to accept any sort of opening. It was always intended to be a picture that would succeed based on word of mouth. Primarily, it had to rely on the reviews and report released after day one.”
“And when combined, you never know where it will go.” Obviously, as a member of the entertainment industry, I hope and pray that every film in which the industry has invested generates returns. Thus, we hope that something comes out of it, and if nothing else, that the creators recover through the sale of its streaming and satellite rights. So, keep your fingers crossed.”
Bheed is based on the dark coronavirus era that established national borders. In addition to Rajkumar and Bhumi, Ashutosh Rana, Dia Mirza, and Pankaj Kapur also appear in the film.
