Gilgit: Pakistani mountaineer Sajid Sadpara climbed Broad Peak without oxygen from basecamp.

The son of famed mountaineer Ali Sadpara summited the 8,051-metre peak without Sherpas or local backup.

Sadpara has climbed all five Pakistani eight-thousanders without oxygen.

Sajid wants to climb all 14 eight-thousanders without oxygen.

He ascended Nanga Parbat without oxygen or Sherpas in June.

He summited K2 (8,611m), Gasherbrum-I (8,080m), and Gasherbrum-II (8,035m) in Pakistan and Manaslu (8,163m) in Nepal without oxygen.

Sajid also climbed Mount Everest without oxygen or Sherpas in May 2023.

Moreover, Pakistani mountaineer Naila Kiani began her climb to Broad Peak on Tuesday, reaching camp two at 6,100 metres.

Naila will become the first Pakistani woman to summit all five eight-thousanders by ascending Broad Peak.

While, Naila will summit Broad Peak this month if the weather holds.

The mountaineer became the first Pakistani woman to summit Nanga Parbat, known as “Killer Mountain” due to its high fatality rate, at 8,126 metres. Avalanches, storms, and unstable glaciers make the climb difficult.

In Pakistan, she climbed K2, Nanga Parbat, Gesherbram 1 and 2.

While, In May, she climbed Mount Lhotse in Nepal, the fourth highest mountain in the world at 8,516 metres after Mount Everest, K2, and Kangchenjunga.

Moreover, In May, she summited Mount Everest and received the third-highest civilian award, Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
