PESHAWAR: The State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan has advised health authorities to photograph patients. Only the admitted to hospitals under the Sehat Sahulat Programme in order to promote transparency.
According to a notice published here on Saturday, the requirement to photograph patients will become mandatory on April 25.
All health facilitators (HFs) advised to take a picture of the patient prior to admission. In order to improve the Sehat Sahulat Program’s gatekeeping mechanism and transparency in terms of patients.
Panel hospitals advised to install a webcam at the HFO Desks for the identification management. As well as patient records of health card holders.
All health facilitators would ensure that photographs captured via an integrated webcam at the health desk and refrain from using mobile phones.
In the event of an emergency or if the patient is unable to visit the HF’s counter prior to admission, a photograph may be taken with the patient’s consent; however, under no circumstances will admission permitted without capturing identity.
This month, a controversy arose when State Life halted Sehat Card treatment due to nonpayment of premiums by the K-P government and requested that all hospitals stop accepting new patients.
This caused a multitude of issues for the general public and prompted widespread criticism on social media.
