Webdesk: BTS Suga commented on the boy band’s US debut and said he couldn’t sleep before it.
The K-Pop artist said the septet was apprehensive about creating a global imprint before their 2017 American Music Awards performance.
The singer added on Suchwita, “I’m the type that doesn’t get nervous much, but in 2017, we did our U.S. debut performance, and I experienced my hands shaking for the first time.”
South Korean soccer player Lee Kang-in joined Suga in the interview to discuss pre-game nervousness before big stadium games or shows.
When asked about their U.S. debut, Suga replied, “The pressure that I needed to do well here made me not be able to sleep at night.”
“Singers prove themselves on stage, while athletes do so through performance. For instance, this award show awarded us. We visited Billboard, he said.
We were so big that going onstage at the AMAs in 2017 wasn’t even a dream. I never considered the possibility.”
Suga added, “After [the AMAs], I was scared because it was just the start. Since I realised this wasn’t a one-time affair, the strain of what we needed to do to get the results we wanted progressively creeped up on me.”
After the AMAs, I cried a lot. ‘Where do we go from here?’ No one could advise us what to do at this point… We worked hard. Even some worried this was a one-time event. There was much talk of nothing afterward.”
