Webdesk: Taylor Swift followers opposed her collaboration with rapper Ice Spice to support her supposed boyfriend Matt Healy.
Ice Spice, 23, played Swift’s fan-favorite Karma at Eras Tour’s New Jersey performances.
The 1975 frontman criticised for laughing along with Adam Friedland’s podcast hosts as they insulted Ice Spice’s race. Healy chuckled as the hosts branded her “Inuit Spice Girl,” “This chubby Chinese lady,” and mocked her accent, upsetting followers.
The Grammy-winning singer told Spotify that her work with Anti-Hero not “damage control” for her boyfriend.
“Collaborating with Ice Spice on Karma one of the most natural things,” she told the music streaming giant. She told her staff, “Hey, Ice has been a big fan of Taylor since she was a little kid.” We would love to collaborate if it ever happened.
Swift said she was “listening” to the Bronx rapper “nonstop” while “getting ready for [her] tour.” She said, “I was just listening to Ice Spice constantly. I immediately called her and asked, “Hey, would you like to do your version of Karma?”
Ice Spice “jumped in headfirst.” Swift called “getting to know” the rapper “so special” and “blown away by her.”
