MUMBAI: Satish Kaushik’s manager, Santosh Rai, has told what the late Bollywood actor and director said before he died.
Satish Kaushik was in a car in New Delhi when he had a heart attack. Cardiac arrest caused him to die at the age of 66.
The actor’s manager, Santosh Roy, said that when Satish Kaushik had a heart attack, he knew he wouldn’t be able to live anymore, so he was saying, “Save me, I don’t want to die.”
Santosh Roy talked about the night Satish Kaushik said goodbye to the world. He did this because he was with the actor at the time. “Satish Kaushik finished eating at 8:30 PM, and our flight to Mumbai was at 8:50 PM on March 9. He told me, “Come on, Santosh, we should go to bed early because we have to get up early in the morning.”
The manager said, “Satish ji called me at 11 at night and asked me to come fix his phone’s Wi-Fi password because he had to watch Kaghaz 2 (a movie directed by Satish Kaushik) for editing. After that, he went back to his room.”
Santosh Rai says that at 12:05, Satish called him out loudly. He went into the room and the actor told him, “I’m having trouble breathing. Take me to the doctor.”
He said that we and his driver and bodyguard got in the car quickly. As we drove to the hospital, he put his head on my shoulder and said, “Santosh, I don’t want to die. Save me. I want to live for my daughter Vanshika. I don’t think I’ll make it, so take care of my wife and daughter.”
Santosh says that soon after that, Satish stopped talking and didn’t react to anything.
It’s important to note that Santosh Rai has been with Satish Kaushik for 34 years.
