LAHORE: Khadija Shah, the main suspect in the Lahore corps commander’s house attack, will appear before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) today.
Tuesday’s arrest of Khadija Shah sent her to a women’s police station. SP Anush Masood will examine the fashion designer, according to sources.
The Punjab Police arrested her the day before.
After promising to surrender, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporter did not.
After Imran Khan’s detention in the £190m settlement case, PTI stormed and burnt Jinnah House on May 9.
Shah admitted to being a PTI fan and protesting outside the Lahore Corps Commander’s House in a 16-minute audio clip published on Sunday, but she denied encouraging violence.
Shah’s father, Dr. Salman Shah, was a part of former president Parvez Musharraf’s finance team and a Punjab government adviser under Usman Buzdar.
Her grandfather was an army chief.
After a report showed that alleviation for the famous fashion designer failed, she arrested. She was on the run when police searched her home.
Punjab Interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi had promised to arrest the women who attacked military posts on May 9.
The army and federal government have also promised to try all attackers of military sites under the Pakistan Army Act and Official Secrets Act.
After the May 9 attacks, thousands of PTI workers were arrested nationwide, and some leaders left the party.
