Lahore: Help desk of railways police Lahore station has rescued and returned the two teenage vulnerable girls of age between 13-14 years, escaped from Karachi to the Karachi police.
The girls were found in a miserable condition by one of the patrolling constables of railways police from Lahore Cantt station. Later, upon interrogation by railways police, it was disclosed by the girls that they had left their homes due to compassionless attitude of their parents. Both the teenage girls are class-fellow of 8th grade. An FIR of kidnapping was also registered on complaint of parents at Korangi police station Karachi.
The railways police had been harbouring the girls at help desk Lahore for more than 1 day before handing over to the investigating officer of Karachi Korangi police station in the presence of parents.
It is worth mentioning here that, prompt and timely action by railways police have averted the threat and sword of damocles hanging over their heads in the form of sexual abuse and kidnapping, as the girls were found alone sitting and hiding at the corner of stations’ platform. During interrogation, it was revealed that girls had travelled in Khyber-Mail Express train and reached the Lahore Cantt station in the late hour of night at around 2:30 hrs.
The patrolling constable found them in miserable condition between 6-7am, and said that girls were hiding themselves to be unnoticed or overlooked. The girls, in order to disguise themselves were garbed like boys, said railways police constable. After preliminary interrogation they were sent to railways police help desk Lahore station for further safe disposal.
