Rio de Janeiro: A 36-year-old woman was found alive and sealed inside a mausoleum wall at a cemetery in Brazil. She had been there for about 10 hours.
According to the police, the woman was saved after workers at a municipal cemetery saw blood stain. Those were around a newly sealed tomb and called for help.
“Police heard someone inside calling for help, so they broke down a brick wall. Afterward, pulled out a woman who was hurt on her head and arms,” they said in a statement. They said that the victim seemed to have been put alive Monday night inside a wall with a lot of above-ground tombs. This is a way to save space at the cemetery in Visconde do Rio Branco, which has 43,000 people.
Investigators said that a gang attacked the woman out of anger. Allegedly because the drugs and guns they had hidden at her house had gone missing. She told the police that two men in masks had broken into her house and attacked her and her husband. Her husband was able to get away. The person is still in the hospital, but news source G1 said that their condition is “improving.” The police said they were looking for two suspects who were 20 and 22 years old.
