LAHORE: The Punjab government gave orders for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President and former chief minister, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, to detained for 30 days under 3 MPO.
In an order from the deputy commissioner of Lahore, Elahi told to stay in Lahore Camp Jail, where already held.
The notification said that this choice made based on what the Lahore district intelligence committee had said.
According to papers that The News got from the committee, Elahi is the most important member of the PTI and a great speaker.
He has the power to get people to do things that break the law.
Moreover, The Model Town SP and the district intelligence group have said that Elahi can cause trouble and chaos, and there is a real fear that people who support him could hurt people or damage property.
They have suggested that Elahi locked up for 30 days.
While, At the Qila Gujjar Singh Police Station, FIRs 22/604 and 22/1822 have been filed against him. At the Ghalib Market Police Station, FIR 23/1150 lodged.
While, Investigations based on these FIRs have shown that Elahi and his friends have been engaged in arson, terrorism, and fighting against law enforcement.
In the order from the deputy commissioner, it said that Elahi could talk to the government of Punjab about the decision.
Even though Elahi got bail on July 11, he is still in jail.
In a case brought by the FIA against the PTI leader, a local judge in Lahore said that he should freed on bail.
Elahi was first taken on June 1 for graft. This was part of a crackdown on the PTI after the protests on May 9. After this, he caught again and again for different things, like the two money laundering cases.
