Karachi: The ECP asked the Sindh chief secretary to make sure that all members of electoral colleges in Sindh will be at their polling places on June 15. When the heads of local councils will chosen.
In a notice, the election commission said, “To make sure that no one is denied the right to vote, you [chief secretary Sindh] are asked to make sure that the members of relevant electoral colleges are at their polling stations on the polling dates. The matter could made a top concern right away.”
Metropolitan corporations, municipal corporations, municipal committees, town municipal committees, and district councils are all different kinds of local governments.
The commission also said that different political groups told them that their candidates arrested. They held in the province of Sindh for different reasons.
The voting body said that its their duty to make sure that the election done in an honest way.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman filed a petition with the SHC last week. Petition said that the ruling PPP was using state tools to get the coveted job.
Rehman said that the provincial government and officials did things that were against the law during the election process. Now, he said, they are putting pressure on council members, especially those elected on the PTI ticket, by raiding their homes, sending threats, and putting elected candidates in false cases and blind FIRs.
