Pakistan, China, and Iran will institutionalise trilateral counter-terrorism consultations

Beijing: Pakistan, China, and Iran agreed on Wednesday to “institutionalise the trilateral consultations on counter-terrorism and security. The Foreign Office confirmed this development in a statement.

The decision made at the first meeting of the Pakistan-China-Iran Trilateral Consultation on Counterterrorism and Security. It took place today in Beijing, China.

While, Director General (Counter-Terrorism) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Hameed, represented Pakistan. Bai Tian, Director General of the Department of External Security Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led China. Seyed Rasoul Mosavi, Assistant to the Foreign Minister and Director General of South Asia at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led Iran.

The spokesperson said that the three groups talked “in detail about the security situation in the region, especially the threat of terrorism in the region.”

Moreover, Assistant Foreign Minister of China Nong Rong also called by DG Hameed and DG Mosavi, the release said.
