LAHORE: An ATC in Lahore sent 13 female suspects in the Jinnah House attack to jail for 14 days. This included Khadija Shah, a member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the main suspect.

The change happened after Judge Abhar Gul Khan heard the case at the ATC.

Thirteen women, including Shah, Sanam Javed, and others, brought before the court by the police. They asked the court to let them stay in jail longer. The cops said they have to get the accused to give back the petrol bombs and stolen goods.

The court, on the other hand, didn’t agree to any more physical arrest and told the women to go to jail in judicial custody.

On the other hand, the ATC extended Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s judicial remand in a case against her for giving speeches that could lead to bloodshed.

In the Askari Tower case, the former governor of Punjab, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, also kept in jail longer.

Shah, born in Pakistan but now a US citizen, given diplomatic access by the Punjab Home Department the day before. Sources said that the choice made after the US made a formal request and the interior ministry told the department what to do.

Washington has been keeping an eye on Shah’s case, and State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel said at a press conference that foreign governments should allow and follow consular notifications for processes when American citizens are detained.
