Peshawar: Heavy rains and thunderstorms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab on Saturday killed 28 and injured over 100.
The provincial disaster management authority reported 25 deaths and 145 injuries in rain-related accidents in KP’s Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Karak, and Lakki Marwat. The downpour destroyed 69 houses, it said.
PDMA reported 15 deaths and 100 injuries in Bannu. Additionally, 68 dwellings partially damaged.
Lakki Marwat saw five deaths and 42 injuries.
Karak saw four deaths and one injury. Rains killed a toddler in Dera Ismail Khan, injured two adults, and partially damaged one building.
A Rescue 1122 officer said all KP stations prepared for any incident.
Moreover, Heavy rain caused roof collapses in Lakki Marwat, Bannu, and other sections of the province, requiring relief efforts.

Moreover, KP caretaker Information Minister Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah stated that hospitals in affected districts had issued a high alert.
He claimed the interim government was contacting affected authorities.
Heavy rains and winds hit Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and other Punjab districts.
After severe rains toppled their house wall in Chan village, Khushab district, three girls died.
While, Gujranwala district saw 10 rain-related injuries.
Many places lost power due to heavy rains and winds.
